Research and Destroy!

These classes is geared for aerialists with some experience under their belts. Working with momentum and transitions as the “trick” we will let our bodies ask the questions so we can get out of our heads and go more deeply into our physicality.

We will concentrate on knowing our wraps and where the wraps can lead us to break habits and organize and build sequences more seamlessly. Must be able to invert in the air again and again and execute a clean hip key.

About the instructor:
LISA NATOLI

Lisa Natoli is a New York City based aerial artist specializing in silks and rope. She attended the Alvin Ailey certificate program before receiving her degree in dance at the University of Iowa. As a dancer she has performed with Amy Kail, Dawn Poirer, Jill Sigman, Jody Sperling and Red Shift Dance. As an aerialist Lisa has performed with ImaginAerial, Helium Aerial Dance, Cirque-tacular Entertainment, General Mischief Dance, Above and Beyond Dance, Constellation Moving Company, and Kevin O’Connor. Lisa is a frequent solo performer at the resident program Floating Kabarette at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn and performs often around the NYC at various venues and events. Lisa is artistic director of Lisa’s Bright Ideas presenting full-length solo and ensemble evenings since 2009.

Lisa’s Bright Ideas is an aerial performance company based in Brooklyn. LBI has presented evening length performances since 2008 at various venues in Brooklyn including The Brooklyn Lyceum, MonkeyTown, Cantina Royal, The Gowanus Ballroom and Embody Language Studios. LBI has collaborated with musicain Bob Hoffnar, photographer Henryk Spiess, and video artist Andrew T. Foster. The performers have included Cody Schreger (The Met, Helium Aerial Dance), Susie Williams (The Flying Pages), Laura Sheehy (Cabaret, Mental Head Circus), Kristin Geneve Young (Cirque du Soleil), Maia Ramnath (Constellation Moving Company), Francis Stallings (Lady Circus, The Box), and Sarah Wollschlager. LBI also hosts and curates an aerial salon presenting some of the most skilled and innovative performers in NYC.
