Description: The Arts Asylum, Kansas City’s newest visual and performing arts center located in a historic building in the downtown district, officially opens to the public on Saturday, June 2 with a launch party that unveils the James and Marjory Russell Theater, along with a formal opening of gallery space and studios. In addition to the unveiling of the new building, The Arts Asylum is bringing together established and emerging local artists for the building’s first production showcase, “Pure Imagination,” featuring artists of all creative facets, with a taste of musical, theatrical, fashion, visual and performance arts.
